Grainedit.com

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

One of my daily internet stops when searching for inspiration is Grainedit.com, it is a site that is constantly updated and focuses on vintage design and illustration. They also recently did an interview with Tim Gough (one of my favorite Philadelphia designers/illustrators/screen printers).

My friend Greg is a recent graduate of the MFA printmaking program at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.  He just re-designed his website to include a variety of recent works including his MFA senior thesis exhibition, recent screen-printed books, and a multitude of screen-printed posters.  His website is http://www.doctorpizzoli.com.  Check it out.

Using Organic Resources

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

I came across this wonderful landscaping techniques on freshome.com. Photography taken by Katy Elliott during her trip to the Portland Flower Show.
One word: Amazing!

I’m thinking about incorporating this type of organic design in my own backyard but apply lin seed oil to exposed areas then seal it with some clear lacker.

Dan Hughes - Illustration

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Recent graduate of the illustration department over at the University of the Arts, Dan Hughes, has a very playful and graphic painting style.  I also enjoy his variety of color pallette’s, that range from extremely limited to vibrant bursts of many different colors at once.  Dan’s medium of choice for his illustrations is acrylic paint, though he can work digitally, he prefers painting, which is something that I admire.  Anyways, check out his website at http://www.danielhughesillustration.com.

Team 168 Always Stylin’

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Meet some of the 168 team…We are always stylin’ and hip, trying new trends. This spring/summer the sun may be bright but not as bright as the neon sunglasses that Urban Outfitters is selling! Check us out (Photo Left To right: Me - Leah, Lee, Chris, Brad) . We were in Philly together after the Go Green Expo at the Convention center on 3-13-09. We did some walking around Center City to check out some fresh designs after the show, and discovered vibrant colors are definitely in this season. We will be keeping the new color palette  in our thoughts as we concept.
