In my daily quest to go green I often find myself putting 30-40 miles on the bike. This past Friday we had 45 mile per hour winds, “Pay those winds no mind” I said “I am riding”… It was a breezy commute in to the office to say the least and then from the office in Moorestown to North Third Street in Center City was a whole new adventure. The bridge was Gusty as I have ever seen it, at one point I
was looking at my onboard bike computer and I was cresting at 3 mph, I decide to walk with the bike at that stage and I was going 4.5 walking…. Here are just a few of the beautiful shots of the bridge commute from Friday.

“Made To Order” in Northern Liberties is another cool chill spot that I hit on a weekly basis. The guys there are down with some great goods, and they seek out really unique brands. The vibe and style of the store is just right. Penfield to 10 Deep, some Dunks ,some Vans… the whole 9 yards. Speaking of Vans, Justin hooked me up with a rare pair of Simpsons Vans by Todd James (see pic). They were a great price and a truly hard to find pair. The guys are always willing to help and they can get anything you want. Check them out.
Here is the latest creation from Steve B at Bilenky Bikes. This bike was spec’ed totally custom from the tires up. You may notice the retro Campy Cranks, the Sweet Blacked-out Rims and the Generator front hub running the two headlights. The Custom Case Of Beer rack with integrated bottle opener on back. The bike is a low-fi black paint job, as a way to stay under the Center City Bike Theft Cults.
The really cool feature is the rear hub, a Rohloff 14 speed internal hub!!! There is nothing like it, supper duty and super exotic. So under the radar, I guess??? Enjoy. I am !!!!
I have found a great new spot for me….The Devil’s Den at 11th and Ellsworth in South Philly. A great beer selection that can’t be beat, and some excellent food to back it up.
The wood-burning fireplace really adds to the experience — we went out for Valentine’s Day and had a wonderful time.

Local design legend Albert Marzano dies at the age of 89 in his Philadelphia home this past Sunday. The late Mr. Marzano designed such logo’s as the infamous Wawa goose, the Yuengling lager eagle/logotype, and the label for the old Ortlieb’s brewery turned jazz club (side note: Ortlieb’s is still around, it is located on 3rd street in Northern Liberties but is under new management and quite frankly just not the same.)

Remember to be thankful for the little thing’s this holiday, like a warm bed, your health, and another day of life. It is important to tell anyone who means something to you, “I LOVE YOU” and that you are thankful for them every day, not just on the 14th of February. Valentine’s Day is not about flowers and candy, but it gives us chance to be reminded once a year to celebrate a loved one or ferret–whomever you prefer! Enjoy Everyday! oxoxo Leah & Harv
