Unique Typography

August 12th, 2009 by Chris

During the 51st Grammy’s Awards, there was a unique stop -motion animation of colorful typography that made up different pictures or artists and objects. All I could find were the full color ads, but will update with the stop-motion when I locate it.grammys

Construction of Whitman College (Princeton University)

August 12th, 2009 by Kirk

I came across this cool time-lapse video showing the construction of Whitman College, which is one of six residential colleges at Princeton University. Construction started in 2004 and was completed fall of 2007. The images were archived every hour during the 3 year span in which construction took place.

Grainedit.com

One of my daily internet stops when searching for inspiration is Grainedit.com, it is a site that is constantly updated and focuses on vintage design and illustration. They also recently did an interview with Tim Gough (one of my favorite Philadelphia designers/illustrators/screen printers).

The greatest thing since sliced bread to compose animation has been Flash, but what about the people that don’t have access to this fabulous program? We Learned to Pickle and Can our Produce!

August 6th, 2009 by Leah

canning

Almost anything that grows in the garden is good for pickling! With our large garden (20ft x 30ft) we just cannot eat all of our produce that it generates in one week. Our produce is so tasty and dear to us we could not stand to loose any of it. By having this large garden we save a ton of money on fresh veggies. We have incorporated at least one vegetable in our dinner and lunch each day, whether it be a tomato on the side, or an egg plant as our main course. We grew everything from string beans to cucumbers, as well as many different types of tomatoes and peppers.

So while our gardening hobby starts to wind down, our pickling and canning has picked up. My husband has recently purchased books and materials to start our new hobby. Most of the best recipes we have found online by simply  doing a search. He has canned all differnt kinds of peppers and has even made salsas, and of course he made pickles! It is not easy and it takes a lot of delicate steps to get it just right. We feel it will be worth it on a cold winter day to crack open a can of roasted red peppers! And Enjoy!
